The social media sites both limited the spread of an article that claimed Joe Biden's son, Hunter, had accepted money from a Ukrainian energy company in exchange for access.

Hunter Biden's name made headlines again after the New York Post recently published an article that appeared to show emails between him and Vadym Pozharskyi, an adviser to the board at Ukrainian energy firm Burisma Holdings.

"I hear they have stuff coming out that you wouldn't even believe," Trump told a rowdy crowd in North Carolina.

Trump has long alleged that the Bidens used Joe's role as vice president to benefit his son's business dealings in the Ukraine.

Days earlier, Trump called for Attorney General Bill Barr to indict Biden.

The emails and photos included in the report came from a Trump-supporting computer store owner in Delaware via Rudy Giuliani.

"Unfortunately you know exactly what you're doing. So does your team, who all hate Trump, and will do all they can to take him down," tweeted Dan Scavino, the White House deputy chief of staff for communications.

"Vice President Biden," President Donald Trump said, "you owe the people of America an apology because it turns out you are a corrupt politician.

The announcement came the same day the New York Post published details of a new Democrat email scandal.
